1. ENROLMENT & FEE POLICY
1.1 Enrolment Duration

Enrolment at COMPEAT Dance continues for the full calendar year unless written withdrawal is provided to admin@compeatdance.com.au
. Fees remain active and payable until notice is received.

1.2 Class Commitment

Students enrolled in Performance (Blue Stream), Elite (Black Stream), and troupe/choreography classes must commit to the full competition season. Withdrawal is not permitted once choreography has commenced.

1.3 Fee Invoicing — Term Billing

All classes are billed per term, not weekly.

Some terms are longer or shorter, but fees remain the same regardless of length.

Shorter terms are not discounted; longer terms are not additional.

No refunds or credits apply for missed classes.

1.4 No Refunds for Cancelled Classes

COMPEAT issues no refunds, credits or make-up lessons for cancelled classes caused by:

weather

public holidays

venue or building issues

illness

power outages

unforeseen circumstances

Term fees remain fixed regardless of these events.

1.5 Fee Payment Deadline — Week 3

All term fees must be paid in full by the end of Week 3 of each term.
Students cannot participate in classes, rehearsals or activities if fees remain unpaid.

1.6 Late Payment Fee

A $30 late fee will be added to any overdue account.
Late fees may continue to apply if balances remain outstanding.

1.7 Withdrawal & Mid-Term Cancellation

Two (2) weeks’ written notice is required to withdraw from any class.
Fees accrue during this notice period.
No refunds or credits apply for withdrawing mid-term.
Once a term has commenced, the full term fee remains payable.

1.8 Levies

All levies — including costume, exam, rehearsal, and competition levies — are non-refundable.

1.9 Debt Collection

Unpaid accounts may be referred to a debt collection agency.
A 20% surcharge will apply once forwarded.

1.10 Merchandise & Uniform Orders

Uniform, costume and merchandise orders are non-refundable, including when families leave the studio before stock arrives.
Orders must be collected within 2 weeks of notification.
After this period, the purchaser is responsible for collecting or reselling items.
COMPEAT is not responsible for storing, refunding, or reselling merchandise.

2. PAYING UPFRONT

Upfront term payments must be made by Monday of Week 2.

A 5% early bird discount applies only if payments are made before the deadline.

Late fees apply in Week 3 and Week 5.

Accounts unpaid may be sent to debt collection.

3. PRIVATE TUITION

All private and duo lessons must be attended.

No refunds or make-up lessons are provided unless due to a COMPEAT competition clash.

4. ENROLMENT CHANGES

Two (2) weeks’ written notice required for withdrawal.

Fourteen (14) days’ written notice required for class changes.

Levies are non-refundable.

No credits apply for reducing classes.

5. PUBLICITY & MEDIA CONSENT

By enrolling, families consent to use of photos and videos of students for COMPEAT promotional purposes including social media, website and advertising.

Cameras may operate in studio areas for safety.

6. INJURY POLICY

All injuries must be reported to teachers immediately.

Medical clearance is required for returning to dance after significant injury.

No refunds or credits apply for classes missed due to injury or illness.

7. CORE RULES OF DISCIPLINE

Students must:

follow teacher instructions

be prepared and on time

wear correct COMPEAT uniform and grooming

behave safely and respectfully

treat others with kindness and professionalism

Consequences may include:

Verbal warning

Second warning

Removal from class + parent contact

Troupe restriction, suspension, or enrolment review

8. PHYSICAL CONTACT POLICY

Dance is a physical activity requiring technical correction. Teachers may use professional and appropriate physical contact to adjust alignment, posture, placement and technique.

All staff:

hold valid Working With Children Checks

complete child-safe training

9. SECURITY CAMERA POLICY

Security cameras operate in reception and studio areas.
Cameras record video and audio.
Footage may be reviewed for:

student safety

staff protection

incident investigation

behavioural concerns

Footage is accessed only by COMPEAT management.

10. SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

Online conduct must reflect COMPEAT values.

Negative, defamatory or confidential posts about COMPEAT are prohibited.

Students wearing COMPEAT uniform must behave respectfully online.

11. STUDENT & PARENT CONDUCT
11.1 Studio Safety

Students must remain inside the studio until collected.

11.2 Personal Items

COMPEAT is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

11.3 Photography & Filming

Photos or videos inside the studio are not permitted without permission.

11.4 Communication With Staff

Parents and students must not contact teachers or staff via personal mobile numbers, private messaging apps, or social media.

Staff personal information must not be requested or shared.

11.5 No Parent Group Chats / WhatsApp / Outside Communication Groups

Parents are not permitted to create or run parent messaging groups (WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook groups, SMS groups etc.) related to COMPEAT unless a COMPEAT staff member is included in the group.
This ensures:

correct information

child safety

respectful and accurate communication

prevention of gossip or misinformation

Any COMPEAT-related group must include a COMPEAT representative.
Private groups discussing COMPEAT are not allowed.

12. COMPLAINT PROCEDURE

All concerns or complaints must be submitted respectfully through administration.

COMPEAT will respond in a timely and professional manner.

COMPEAT may request clarification or follow-up communication if needed.

(Note: Director meeting option removed as requested.)

13. DISCIPLINE PROCEDURE

First warning

Second warning

Removal from class + parent notification

Possible troupe suspension or enrolment review

14. EXTERNAL TRAINING & WORKSHOPS

Blue and Black Stream dancers must train primarily at COMPEAT.

One-off workshops outside COMPEAT are allowed only if not part of another studio’s regular program.

Weekly classes, private lessons, or ongoing training at other studios are not permitted.
