Thank you for joining Sirens in 2025. By completing and submitting this form you agree to follow the conditions of enrolment at Sirens Cheerleaders. If the athlete is under 18 years of age it is expected that parent/guardian discuss this form with them. These principles help ensure the safety and enjoyment for all. Failure to abide by the rules may result in removal from the program.

SIRENS ARE COMMITTED TO SAFETY.

* I understand there are risks in participating in sport and that cheerleading involves airborne skills such as somersaults, throwing teammates in the air and relying on team mates for safety.

* I permit first aid to be administered if required.

* I permit to an ambulance being called if required.

* I will abide by the USASF, IASF and ACSA rules which govern cheerleading by removing all jewelry (including body piercings) and keeping fingernails short for training. Taping is sufficient for training only when removal is not possible.

* COVID-19 - I will follow any covid-19 protocols put in place by Sirens Cheerleaders to comply with government regulations.

* I will use the equipment and floor only during class time and only as directed.

* I will follow my coaches' directions.

* I will practice safe stunting and tumbling and not stunt or tumble at home any skills in which I am not very proficient.

* I will walk or see my athlete safely in and out of the gym for pick ups and drop offs.

* I will not chew gum or eat on the cheer floor.

* I will not partake in drugs or other illegal substances and understand this is grounds for removal from the program.

* I understand Sirens is a non-smoking/vaping environment.

SIRENS MAINTAINS A PROFESSIONAL IMAGE.

* I will not behave inappropriately in public, at events or through social media while wearing Sirens Cheerleaders branded uniforms or merchandise.

* I understand that negativity on social media may result in dismissal from the program.

* I permit images of me/my child to be used in Sirens Cheerleaders marketing- if you do not agree to this please advise in writing to sirens.andii@gmail.com

SIRENS SHOW COMMITMENT FINANCIALLY.

* I will pay invoices on time and communicate with the Administration officer, BEFORE the due date, If I have difficulties in paying fees.

* I understand invoice adjustments are granted only where a medical certificate is produced and classes need to be altered for longer than 2 weeks

* I understand I/my child will not be allowed to participate in class if my fees are overdue and a payment plan has not been arranged.

SIRENS ARE SUPPORTIVE AND POSITIVE.

* I will show respect to myself and my Sirens family at all times.

* I will represent Sirens to the best of my ability by displaying the values: Positive, supportive, committed, inclusive and enthusiastic.

* I will not gossip or bully others and I will ask for help from my coach or the gym owner if I feel bullied or uncomfortable.

* I will not display negativity to my team mates in class or on social media.

* I will inform staff at an appropriate time if I have concerns or ideas.

* I will refrain from negative 'sideline talk" at all times.

* I am committed to my squad and will train as required.

* I will not interrupt coaches or distract other athletes during training sessions.

* I will arrive on time or early for training and events and ensure I am collected on time.

* I understand that spectators are not allowed (exception is trial classes and toddler programs or by appointment). Entry to the gym is for athletes only and parent/spectators must remain in the foyer at all times.

* I understand that routine choreography, athlete positions and roles are up to the coach and gym owner and are not open for discussion. I will communicate with the gym owner if I disagree with the afore mentioned.

* I understand that important correspondence and information is by email and I will read emails.

RECREATIONAL ATHLETES
Rec Cheerleading & Tumble Classes.

Attendance in our recreational classes is not compulsory.
I understand that refunds, credits and make up classes are unable to be issued for missed classes.

In the instance of illness or injury that prohibits the athlete from attending class for more than two consecutive weeks a medical certificate must be provided before a credit will be considered.

COMPETITIVE ATHLETES.

At Sirens it is very important to us that our athletes have the best opportunities to be successful and to be happy and valued in their teams. Our competitive squad rules are very important and we have high standards. If you feel unsure about meeting these standards please talk to us. We have many options available to suit all levels of commitment. It is important that you are in the right place according to your needs and the team’s needs. Failure to comply with the rules may result in the removal from our competitive program.

PARTICIPATION.

* Class is not to be missed unless approval is given from the Gym owner with minimum two weeks notice. Notification via email to Sirens.andii@gmail.com (Acceptable reasons include exams and work travel, not birthdays, parties, dinners etc)

* You are only permitted to miss a class at late notice if you are unable to commute to class due to illness or injury or are at risk of infecting others (or unavoidable car problem etc). In this instance please text Belinda 0410 561 579 and provide a medical certificate to sirens.andii@gmail.com within two days where applicable.

* If you are injured you are expected to observe all trainings to remain familiar with choreography, keep up-to-date with routine changes and to encourage teammates. You are expected to ‘catch-up’ in your own time.

* You are expected to be prepared to train hard every class: arriving early ready to step on the floor on time, having been to the toilet, hair tied back, all jewellery out, nails short, shoes on, drink bottle labelled, hydrated, having eaten something healthy and sufficient to fuel you for the class, well rested, and with your best attitude for your team.

* Competitive athletes are not to train with other All Star programs unless approved by Gym Owner (grounds for dismissal from program).

* Wherever and whenever possible Sirens do not make changes to our calendar however due to Covid-19 this sometimes becomes necessary and it is expected that all efforts will be made to comply. Please be assured Sirens will do all in its power to stick as closely to the calendar as possible in the event of a Pandemic.

* Should a state/nation wide lockdown occur again in 2025 Competitive athletes are expected to participate in any online programming that is offered.

UNIFORMS

* Uniforms must be ordered and paid for by 1st April (or by the due date according to the invoice) to enable you to compete.

* Competitive athletes are expected to wear Sirens training gear and 2025 Sirens tee to weekly training sessions. Plain black tights are also acceptable.

* Full competition uniform must be worn correctly at all competitions (including presentations) and designated events. This includes hair/makeup and shoes. Jackets/tees are not allowed during presentations unless directed.

* Athletes are expected to follow the cover up rule at competition and wear their Sirens tee over their uniform.

COMPETITIONS

* You must commit to all scheduled 2025 competitions and other whole squad performances for your offered team to accept a place on a semi or competitive team.(see the information pack) If you are unable to attend a competition or will be missing several training sessions please talk to the gym owner directly.

* Competition entry fees are payable throughout the year and must be paid on time in addition to term fees. These are non-refundable even if you do not compete due to injury or are removed for not following the rules e.g. poor attendance or behaviour.

* If you are running late to, or cannot attend an event, please call/text Belinda or your coach as soon as possible, and provide the reason.

* Training in the 2 weeks leading up to a competition must not be missed. If you miss these trainings, understand your position on the team may be changed for the approaching competition or you may be unable to compete. Please take note of the travel days for Nationals in 2025.

PARENTS

* Please do not withhold a child from training (or competition) as a form of punishment. You are not only punishing your child but every other team member. Missed training due to other sporting commitments is not acceptable so please consider carefully your choice to participate in competitive cheerleading.

* For athletes under the age of 18 it is very important that parents are also committed to the expectations of our competitive teams. Please ensure you do everything you can to support them in adhering to the rules for our competitive program.

* Parents are expected to uphold the values of our club. Please refrain from negativity towards athletes, teams, and Sirens when conversing with other parents. It is important that you set the example for our younger people to follow. Negative or detrimental discussions will not be tolerated.

* Parents please refer any concerns or questions directly to the gym owner.

INJURY

* If you have an injury or condition which prevents you from participating in more than one training session we require you to seek medical attention to obtain an accurate diagnosis and a medical certificate for our records and a rehab and recovery plan. This is so we are aware of your limitations, the time required to recover, and we can ensure you are best taken care of for recovery. Please understand we may need to implement an alternate plan if you are unable to train so the team can continue to train. While we appreciate athletes placing their team first, nothing comes before your safety and a healthcare professional must provide clearance, not the athlete/parent/coach.

BY DIGITALLY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT I DECLARE THAT I HAVE READ THE RECREATIONAL AND COMPETITIVE ATHLETE AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, & SIGN IT FREELY & VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

In consideration of myself / my child participating in anyway at Canberra Scholastic Cheerleading T/As Sirens Cheerleaders events & activities, the undersigned acknowledges, & agrees that:
I, the undersigned Athlete (or parent or legal guardian if the Athlete is under 18 years of age), do hereby grant permission for myself, son/daughter to participate in any 2025 Sirens Cheerleaders program and events.

I further acknowledge and understand and agree that by participating in Sirens Cheerleaders program and events there is a possibility of physical illness or injury (minimal, serious, and catastrophic) and that myself, son/daughter is assuming the risk of such injury by participating.

I authorise any representative of Sirens Cheerleaders, its agents, contractors any person representing to consent and authorise any medical attention, treatment, surgery or administration of drugs by qualified and licensed medical personnel for myself, son/daughter, which may become necessary.

I will meet all costs and expenses incurred by Sirens Cheerleaders or by myself in the administration of any medical treatment to me/my son/daughter. I understand Sirens Cheerleaders will use its best endeavours to contact me and to keep me informed in the event of any illness or injury occurring that requires medical treatment as soon as is practicable.

I understand the Sirens Cheerleaders produces promotional material about the program. I understand that my son/daughter may be included in videotape or photography taken during this event. I hereby grant Sirens Cheerleaders, its successors, assignees, licensees, sponsors, any television networks and all other commercial exhibitors the exclusive right to photograph and/or videotape myself, son/daughter and further to utilise my, my son/daughter's name, face, likeness, voice and appearance as part of the event, and in advertising and promotion of the event.

If you do not wish to have their images used in publications, social media, web-advertising and promotions you must notify us, in writing to sirens.andii@gmail.com

I willingly agree to comply with the Sirens Cheerleaders stated & customary terms & conditions for participation. If I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for participation, I will remove my child from the participation & bring such attention to the gym owner.

Rules / Regulations

• No smoking, consumption of alcoholic beverages or use of illegal drugs allowed.
• Sirens Cheerleaders reserve the right to discipline any participant for unruly behavior or for conduct unbecoming to the program and to remove the participant from the program.
• Participants must respect all venue and facility rules and regulations.
• Participants must obey all rules and regulations set forth by Sirens Cheerleaders.
