CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT - PERMISSION & INDEMNITY WAIVER
I, the parent/guardian of the student/s above will agree to the following:
FREE TRIAL LESSON POLICY
Any individual wishing to attend a free trial lesson at Versatility Dance College must complete the 'free trial registration' form prior to participating in the class.
ENROLMENT POLICY
Any student wishing to enrol at Versatility Dance College must first complete online registration. This is available on our website (trial students do not need to do this):
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Parents/guardians are responsible for communicating absences with the Versatility Dance College office. The office must be notified in advance if a student is going to be absent from class, via email or text message.
FEE POLICY
All fees are inclusive of GST. Payment methods are advertised in the Versatility Dance College information pack & website. Class fees are invoiced per term. Fees that remain outstanding after the said payment period, will be sent to a Debt Collector. Performance fees will be charged over 4 terms or upon enrolment, with any adjustments made as required. Elite Level Performance Troupe fees will be charged over 3 terms commencing in term 1. The Enrolment Fee is charged on the first invoice.
REFUND POLICY
When enrolling in our classes, you are committing to a service contract for a complete term & therefore securing a place in the class. Versatility Dance College does not offer refunds, credits or transfers for cancellations during the term, all payments inclusive.
UNIFORM POLICY
The uniform set out by Versatility Dance College & is compulsory for all students. The set uniform must be worn to all classes. Versatility Dance College takes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property. We asked that students are groomed correctly and are on time for the classes to ensure safe dance practise.
COMMUNICATION POLICY
Parents must have a valid email address and contact phone number. Important information & invoices will be emailed to parents, via the provided email address. It is the responsibility of at least one parent/guardian to read emails that are sent from Versatility Dance College to keep informed.
SOCIAL MEDIA & RECOGNITION
By enrolling you agree to your child being photographed for the programme and other advertising or social media for VDC and VDC associated pages. I agree that my children’s examination, competition and other achievements can be used at our discretion for programme, newsletter and or advertising for VDC and social media.
STUDIO LOYALTY POLICY
It is a conflict of interest to attend more than one dance school. Students are not permitted to attend another dance studio as well as Versatility Dance College without permission from the principal.
PHOTOGRAPHY / FILMING POLICY
Students/parents are not permitted to video or photograph performances, classes, students or staff at anytime, unless given permission by the principal and individuals involved.
HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
Versatility Dance College has set up and will maintain safe dance environments for our students. Versatility Dance College staff have the responsibility and authority to ensure that health and safety objectives are achieved. They will identify and eliminate unsafe acts, procedures, conditions, equipment, and hazards of all kinds. Behaviour from students, parents or visitors that may cause an unsafe environment will not be tolerated. It is the responsibility of the student or parent/guardian to inform Versatility Dance College of any prior or current illnesses or injuries prior to enrolment or prior to class. In the event of an injury, Versatility Dance College will administer First Aid treatment by a qualified first aider. If medical services are necessary and an ambulance required, the student/parent will incur the costs. Versatility Dance College MUST be notified of any allergies that a student may have, this can be noted on your enrolment form. Any student who has been diagnosed by a Medical Practitioner as being at risk of anaphylaxis should bring an epipen to class and leave it at reception, labelled with their name. This epipen will be administered by a first aider if required, under the instruction of 000 staff if an emergency arises. Parents are responsible for the safety of their own child when students are not in the class room. Children not in classes are not supervised and we cannot assure the safety of your child when they are left on the premises before, in-between or after classes. Students should not arrive more than 15mins prior to the start of classes. Students making use of the outside of the premises, carpark and garden areas do so at their own risk, as we cannot assure their safety whilst in these areas. Fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and fire blankets are located within the premises.
BEHAVIOUR / CONDUCT POLICY
Versatility Dance College does not tolerate indecent or disrespectful language, defamatory comments, or indecent or disrespectful conduct from students, parents/guardians, family members, or visitors. Any individual who demonstrates any of the above may be asks to withdraw from Versatility Dance College immediately. This behaviour includes at the complex or outside of the complex, social media or on the internet. Negative communications between parents and/or students will not be tolerated by Versatility Dance College. Any person who does not comply with Versatility Dance College's Terms and Conditions will forfeit their position at Versatility Dance College.
PERFORMANCE
Casting for all performances is decided by the principal or teachers and is final. No discussion will be entered into regarding selection for private lessons, solos, duo/trio, auditions, excellence classes or troupes.
CLASS CANCELATION OR CHANGE POLICY
In the case of insufficient numbers, classes may be combined or cancelled. Not all classes will have an item prepared and performed in the end of year Performance. Eg: Acro, Limber etc.
BULLYING POLICY
The Versatility Dance College has zero tolerance for bullying. The following will not be tolerated in person, via email, via text messaging or via the internet; verbal abuse or shouting, physical abuse, excluding or isolating a person, psychological harassment, humiliating a person through sarcasm, criticism or insults, ignoring or belittling a person’s contribution or opinion. Where any persons feel that they are the victim of bullying, they should discuss the matter directly with the person/people concerned and request an end to the behaviour. Should this approach fail or be inappropriate, the victim can contact the Versatility Dance College office for assistance in resolving the matter.
GRIEVANCE POLICY
A grievance is a real or perceived cause for complaint. Versatility Dance College recognises that open communication and feedback is essential for a satisfying and productive environment. Every effort will be made to solve problems cooperatively and informally before presenting them in writing as a formal grievance. Students can be be assured that they will not be disadvantaged by the use of such procedures whether decisions are found for or against their grievance.
PARKING POLICY
For the safety of our students, staff, and visitors, we kindly ask that all those attending Versatility Dance College park in the allocated parking spots and drive carefully around the car park where students may be walking. We are not the only users of the VDC complex therefore we kindly ask that parents do not park in driveways or non allocated parking places. Disabled parks are to be used in accordance with the law.
CCTV POLICY & PROCEDURES
Versatility Dance College operates a CCTV system to deter anti-social and/or criminal behaviour. This system will aim to provide a secure & safe environment for the children, parents/guardians and staff. Access to the CCTV system display monitor will be limited to the principal only. The principal will utilise the system for OHS (Occupational health and safety) and security reasons only. It should be noted that cameras are not located in private areas, such as the toilets and/or change rooms. It should be noted that footage will not be used to asses or evaluate staff or student performance.
CHOREOGRAPHY & COSTUMES
The choreography & costumes of Versatility Dance College are the intellectual property and all rights are owned by the principal. No persons may use the name of the school, costumes designed by the school or choreography of the school for publication or performance without permission from the principal.
FOOD & DRINK
Food and/or drink is not permitted in the classrooms or dressing rooms, with the exception of a water bottle. Food and/or drink must only be consumed in the allocated canteen area. Versatility Dance College requests that nuts are not brought on the premises, however cannot ensure that the premises is 'nut free'.
EXAMINATION / ASSESSMENT POLICY
An optional extra provided by VDC. Students can undertake exams/assessments at the appropriate age level as decided by Versatility Dance College. Selected students will be asked to sit an exam/assessment and this decision is up to the principal.
