Comprehensive Program Details, Policies, and Procedures
Enrolments
⢠You are enrolling in a 17 to 20 week block of Learn to Swim lessons. For specific dates, please see reception or our website.
⢠Mid-block enrolments are welcome, subject to availability. Fees will be calculated based on the number of classes remaining in the block.
⢠A $50 deposit is required to secure your booking. Deposits will be deducted from your account once generated.
⢠Enrolments continuing from the previous term must be paid in full before the new block begins.
⢠Students are placed in classes according to their assessed level.
⢠All new students over the age of 5 may be asked to complete a free, 5-minute assessment prior to enrolling to ensure correct class placement. No assessments are required for infants under the age of 5.
Re-enrolment Block 1
An email will be sent out during the first week of November with instructions on how to re-enrol for Block 1. You will have the option to change days, add new siblings, and for children starting full-time school, to move to after school lessons.
Re-enrolment Block 2
An email will be sent out during the second week of June, asking you to notify us if you have any special requests for Block 2, such as changing days or if you choose not to enrol in Block 2. If we do not receive a response by the due date stated in the email, your child/children will be automatically re-enrolled as we move from Block 1 to Block 2. Your child/children's development will be considered as we prepare for Block 2; therefore, we cannot guarantee the same time or instructor.

Make-up Lessons

Medical Condition Absentee
If your child is injured or ill and will miss four or more consecutive classes, you have the following options:
Option 1: To retain your current lesson time, you will be charged full price for all lessons up to the absentee date and half price for all lessons missed during recovery.
Option 2: If you have paid your current swim account and wish to cancel, Just Swim will credit the balance of the amount paid towards your next enrolment (medical certificate required). Once a credit has been issued, the child will forfeit their class place and must re-enrol when ready to return.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made during a Learn to Swim block due to change of mind or other commitments will incur a $50.00 cancellation fee per child. Any unused lessons, minus the cancellation fee, will be held as credit for future lessons or merchandise. Just Swim does not offer refunds.
In cases of long-term injury or illness, a credit will be issued on your account (medical certificate required). This credit is valid for 12 months. Once issued, the child will lose their class place and must re-enrol when ready to return.
Supervision
Children not participating in a class must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times while at Just Swim, including before, during, and after lessons. Children must not sit or swing on the bars or jump around in the viewing room.
Please refrain from eating in the centre, especially on the pool deck and in the change rooms.
Swimwear
All students must wear appropriate swimwear, and a swim cap. Rash vests and paddle suits are discouraged in levels 3 and above as they restrict movement for formal stroke learning. Children who wear nappies are required to use an aqua nappy in the water.
We recommend goggles for independent classes. Occasionally, children will be asked not to wear goggles to help them adjust in case of accidental immersion.
Caps, goggles, and swimwear are available for purchase at reception.
Photos
You may only take photos of your own child. No other children or teachers can be in the photo or in the background. Videos are not permitted. Please note that staff may ask to view photos and request deletion if other children or teachers are included.
Teacher Contact
Please do not approach teachers while they are in the water, as this interrupts lesson time. If you need to speak to your childâs teacher, please talk to management at reception.
Relief Teachers
All of our relief teachers are fully qualified and trained in our program. They are provided with a lesson plan from your childâs regular teacher to ensure consistency in the children's development.
Class Expectations
⢠Arrive with cap and goggles, ready to start on time.
⢠Late arrivals disrupt class structure and reduce lesson effectiveness.
⢠If arriving late, ask at reception if it is still possible to join the class.
⢠Children are to wait by the wall near the stairs until called into class by their teacher.
⢠Teachers may need to physically assist your child with consent, except in emergencies. This includes adjusting body position, correcting strokes, and assisting in and out of the water.
⢠Please remind your child to use the bathroom before the lesson. If they need a toilet break, they must ask their teacher. Parents may be asked to assist them.
⢠Children are expected to keep their eyes and ears above water when the teacher is speaking, and to keep their hands and feet to themselves.
⢠Misbehaving students will be managed as follows:
⢠Asked to adjust their behaviour.
⢠Warned that if behaviour does not improve, they will need to wait their turn sitting on the wall.
⢠Asked to sit out until behaviour improves.
⢠May finish their class early.

Parentâs Viewing
⢠Please view your child from the deep end or the viewing room. Do not stand or sit in front of the viewing room or reception windows.
⢠Do not interact with your child during lessons, to help teachers maintain focus and engagement.
⢠Older, responsible children may be left at the centre during their class.
⢠Please do not approach teachers in the water. See reception to arrange a discussion if needed.
⢠You may only take photos of your own child. No other children or teachers can be in the photo or in the background. Videos are not permitted. Please note that staff may ask to view photos and request deletion if other children or teachers are included.
